FlixBus Reveals Winning Design in UK 5th Anniversary Competition

17/06/2026

Coach brand FlixBus has unveiled the winning entry of its nationwide design competition in London, celebrating five years of connecting communities across the UK.

Unveiled on Coach Day (17 June), as part of Better Transport Week 2026, the winning design was created by Chantelle (Bao Tran) Vu, a second-year Graphic Design student at the University of Dundee, and voted for by the public.

The competition invited art students from across the country to submit designs inspired by the theme “Five Years Connecting the Lines”, with the winning artwork transformed into a full vehicle wrap.

Chantelle’s concept visualises connections across the UK through intersecting circles inspired by maps and movement, with each circle representing a journey linking cities and communities.

A hidden “5” is woven into the design to celebrate FlixBus’s fifth anniversary, reinforcing themes of movement, accessibility and togetherness.

Chantelle (Bao Tran) Vu said: “I wanted to create something that reflected the way travel brings people and places together. The design is inspired by movement across the UK and the shared experiences created through those connections, while also celebrating growth and community.”

Chantelle wins a £2,000 prize as well as a year of free travel across the UK.

Kathrin Friedrich, Head of Creative at Flix, said: “We were incredibly impressed by the creativity and thought behind the submissions, and we’re delighted that Chantelle’s winning design perfectly captured our modern brand.”

The winning vehicle wrap will begin operating across the FlixBus UK network, which offers over 100 destinations, from today.

Under 22s travel free on the FlixBus Scottish network through their Young Scot pass.
