Sheffield Man Wins FlixBus Driver of the Year 2025

Leading coach brand FlixBus has named its UK Driver of the Year as Dan Sherritt, 35 years old from Sheffield.

The FlixBus Driver of the Year is awarded based on ratings from passengers, with Dan achieving the highest score, out of almost 1,000 drivers, across the national coach network.

Previously a local bus driver, Dan passed his professional driving test in 2014 as he has always been drawn to driving.

Now employed within the trentbarton operating group companies as a FlixBus driver, Dan moved into coach driving in 2025, something he describes as ‘the best career move I’ve ever made’.

Peter Fielding,  Senior Operations Manager at FlixBus UK said: “Dan is the epitome of a driver going ‘above and beyond’, as every single passenger matters to him. Drivers like him are the backbone of our network, elevating the customer experience and ensuring we have the best quality service.”

FlixBus customers praised Dan’s friendly, approachable and outgoing demeanour as the highlight of their journeys.

Dan Sherritt commented: “I’m quite emotional to be recognised.  I put my all into the job and I love it. The driving seat is my happy place, and I am so energised by greeting and looking after my passengers.”

Dan is father to a five-year-old son Riley, and is expecting another child later this year.

Celebrating Driver Success

The Operations Team at FlixBus recently launched a regular driver appreciation initiative, encouraging drivers to engage with their customer feedback, and rewarding the best performers.

As part of the first ever prize draw, Driver Yaseen Muhamed from operator Prospect Coaches was recognised for achieving strong passenger ratings, and said he ‘loves being part of the FlixBus driving team’.
