FlixBus Launches New Daily Coach Service for Heathrow Airport to Scotland and Northern England

12/06/2025

Leading travel brand FlixBus is expanding its network with a new daily coach service connecting Heathrow Airport to cities in Scotland and the North of England, launching Monday 16 June.

Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Sunderland, and Middlesbrough will now have a direct FlixBus service to the UK’s busiest airport.

Tickets from Sunderland start at just £8.99.
Services will travel once a day each way, providing a convenient, comfortable and seamless direct route to and from Heathrow Central Bus Station.

Andreas Schorling, Senior Managing Director of FlixBus UK, said:
“We launched direct routes to Heathrow from the Midlands earlier this year, which have been hugely popular, so we’re delighted to be bringing our affordable, sustainable and reliable airport services to the North and Scotland in time for summer!”

The new FlixBus route will help passengers avoid costly airport parking fees and multiple, complicated train changes via central London.

With luggage included in the ticket price, free Wi-Fi and the option to book a neighbour-free seat on its modern vehicles, FlixBus says the holiday can begin from the moment you board.

The intercity coach network also has a ‘Great’ TrustPilot rating, the highest rating of any in the industry.

The new route strengthens FlixBus’s commitment to growth this summer, adding more airport services as it expands to summer-favourite staycation spots like Brighton, Bournemouth and Newquay.

FlixBus will boast over 200 green vehicles on its network by high summer, offering travel to over 80 UK destinations.

FlixBus offers free travel for Young Scot under 22s, over 60s with a bus pass and anyone with a National Entitlement Card on its extensive, frequent Scottish network.

“We see this growth as a major step forward in our plans to be the largest coach network in the UK,” added Andreas.

Tickets are available to book now at flixbus.co.uk and via the FlixBus app.
