Plymouth Citybus and FlixBus Partnership Unveiled for Spring 2026

A new strategic partnership between Plymouth Citybus and global travel tech brand FlixBus has been unveiled, with new long-distance coach services set to launch in spring 2026.

Andreas Schorling, Vice President of West Europe at FlixBus commented: “Partnering with Plymouth Citybus enhances our network with a fantastic new operator and allows us to deliver more sustainable travel options and economic growth for the country.”

Plymouth Citybus is part of the wider Go South West which operates local bus and coach services across the region, employing around 1,000 staff with a fleet of 400 vehicles.

Richard Stevens, Managing Director of Plymouth Citybus, said: “The new partnership brings express work to our portfolio for the first time, diversifying our business.
It is clear that FlixBus are the leader in the coach sector, offering a dynamic approach to the industry, and we are beyond excited to be coming on board.”

The FlixBus network has recorded hypergrowth since entering the UK market in 2021, now connecting over 80 destinations nationwide.
“The response to our UK expansion has been overwhelmingly positive from customers, and we have a clear strategy to grow our network significantly in 2026, increasing capacity in key corridors as well as opening up new routes,” concluded Schorling.

Two new Yutong GT12s in full FlixBus branding will be delivered to Plymouth Citybus as part of the partnership.
