FlixBus Expands UK Network through New Strategic Partnership with Spirit of Sussex

19/01/2026

Global travel tech brand FlixBus is announcing a new strategic partnership with Spirit of Sussex, with long-distance coach services set to launch in spring 2026.

The move strengthens FlixBus’ ever-growing dominance in the industry, as it seeks to become the UK’s leading coach network.

The Lewes-based operator is part of Brighton & Hove Bus and Coach Company, specialising in high-quality coach services for private hire, schools, and corporate travel.

Two new FlixBus-spec Yutong vehicles will operate services, as part of the long-term partnership, the first GT14s to be added to the network.

Rupert Cox, Interim Managing Director of Spirit of Sussex said: “We’re excited to join the FlixBus network, bringing new opportunities into our business and working with the brand that is delivering coach services designed for the future.”

FlixBus has grown at a record pace since entering the UK market in 2021, doubling its network in 2025, now connecting over 80 destinations nationwide.

The global travel company continues to disrupt the UK coach sector with its tech-driven model and commitment to sustainable, affordable travel.

Andreas Schorling, Vice President of West Europe at FlixBus, added: “Partnerships are at the heart of our success, and Spirit of Sussex is a fantastic addition to the growing group of high-quality operators. As we head into the new year, we remain firmly in a hypergrowth phase. With market leadership in our sights, we will grow our network by the same in 2026 as we did last year.”
