A trip to Utrecht is not complete without a bicycle tour through the city's surrounding areas. A popular day trip is the castle route in the Vechtstreek area near Utrecht along the Vecht, which goes by a number of magnificent country estates and castles.

Utrecht is the perfect size to discover the city center on foot. You will find many boutiques and design shops that have been carefully assembled along the canals (Oudegracht) especially. Arnhem - creative city on the Rhine

Visit Arnheim with a long-distance bus

What do I need to see in Arnhem?

Arnhem is an exceptionally green city that can also look back to an eventful past as the capital city of the Gelderland province. As a sign of the city's history, you can still visit today the Maarten van Rossumhuis (also known as Duivelshuis - "Devil's House") from the 15th century, the only remaining city gate, Sabelspoort, and the Eusebiuskerk. Go to the top of the 73 meter (239.5 ft) tower and the viewpoint there with a glass-walled panorama elevator.

Is the Burgers' Zoo worth a visit?

Burgers' Zoo to the north is one of the city's most popular attractions. There are six areas: Safari Park, Rainforest, Ocean, Mangrove Hall and Rimba, and the animal species represented there can be discovered in one day. In the Safari Park, you can spy on the inhabitants of the Savannah from eastern Africa from bridges and viewpoints, and the Rainforest Hall will quickly make you forget that you are not actually in the tropics. Since a majority of the grounds are covered, it is even worth a visit during unstable weather. The detailed design of the zones and the species-appropriate care for the animals turn any visit into a real adventure. This is also reflected in the higher ticket prices compared to other zoos. You can, however, save if you purchase your tickets online.
