London is the capital of England and the third largest city in Europe. When you arrive in London, you will experience the hustle and bustle of a big city straight away. Just a 15 minute walk to Buckingham Palace, our bus stop is located in the heart of London at Victoria coach station, which is only a couple of minutes’ walk from the Victoria line underground station – you can easily get to anywhere in the city! London is perfect for a relaxing weekend, watching a show, seeing the sights and catching some English sun in one of the city’s large parks, such as Regent’s Park where you will find London Zoo right in the centre! There is so much to see in the city, you will soon be caught up in the big city life and maybe a relaxing weekend will turn into a cultural awakening! Walk along the Thames and explore the length of London, or hop on a red double decker and you will see the different faces that London has to offer, with cockneys, pubs, buskers, and famous landmarks, you will not want to leave the English capital. Are you worried about getting the most out of your trip to London on a budget? Keep calm because we have you covered. You can take a FlixBus coach to London from just £7.50!

Things to do in London

The landmarks and sights that await you in London do not need an introduction. You will be spoiled for choice as soon as you step off your coach. Before you begin your sightseeing tour, you could walk down Elizabeth Street where you can choose from a selection of delis, bistros, restaurants and pubs. Then why not head over to Buckingham Palace and the Mall road. Buckingham Palace is of course world renowned as “The Queen’s House,” however if you choose your coach trip carefully you may be able to experience one of the Mall’s famous events, not to mention you may see the Queen in her bedroom window! In June this year, thousands of people will gather on the Mall for the ‘Patron’s Lunch’ to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. Also be sure to keep an eye out for the Changing the Guard, which takes place daily from April through to July at around 11am. Want a panorama of the city of London? Hop on the London eye and on a clear day you can see not only the city of London but also its boroughs and surrounding areas too. There is so much more to London than the sights that you see on the postcards. We recommend walking along the River Thames. You will be overwhelmed with what you can find - from Tower Bridge to the Canary Wharf, each are of the Thames has its own character. Walk to St Katharine Docks, less than half a mile from Tower bridge, and see how the other half live with magnificent boats and luxurious riverside houses!

London: Culture & History

Londinium was founded by the Romans and now stands as London – a leading global city. London is buried in a rich history that can be seen throughout the city with its memorials, archaic buildings, and an array of museums. The museums that London has to offer is impressive to say the least, with something for everyone. After travelling to London on your FlixBus coach, it only seems fitting to visit the London Transport Museum where you can see some of the original red double decker buses. Displaying over 450,000 items and explaining London’s technological history, this museum has been popular amongst tourists, travellers and locals alike for nearly a century. The British Museum is one of the oldest museums in the world with frequent exhibitions and an elegant display of Britain’s rich history, this museum is a must-visit when your coach arrives in London.

Nightlife in London

One of the most popular attractions of London, and the perfect way to spend an evening in the capital of England is to watch a West End show. If you’ve taken a spontaneous coach trip to London and haven’t booked your tickets yet, then do not fear – the official ticket box office at Leicester Square has a collection of West End tickets for some of London’s most popular shows at outrageously cheap prices, which you can buy on the day! We would highly recommend taking a stroll to Covent Garden and looking for a restaurant or brasserie to enjoy a pre-theatre dinner or a post-theatre cocktail. If you’re more of a night owl and want to experience the nightlife of a vibrant city, then London is the perfect destination for you! Head on over to Shoreditch and try one of ‘The Whistling Stop’s’ unique cocktails. If you would like to party all night and hit the dance floor then head down to ‘KOKO’ in Camden Town, or if you would like to party Ibiza style, then London is home to one of Europe’s largest ‘Pacha’ clubs. Whatever your taste in music, or cocktails, London has you sorted.
